| Antoni Plàcid Guillem Gaudí Cornet was born on June 25th, 1852. He studied architecture at the University of Barcelona. He died in 1926 after having been run over by a tram. Here are pictures of the most famous work, the one everyone goes to see in Barcelona, the "Templo Expiatorio de la Sagrada Familia" otherwise known as just the Sagrada Familia, the Sacred Family. |

| The Mercat La Boquería at 101 La Rambla is Spain's best market. There's been a market at this location since medieval times. Want a great lunch? Eat at one of the many bars inside. | |

| Tired of the hustle and bustle of thriving Barcelona? Just go to the Cathedral and head right for the cloister. It's the most peaceful place in the city. Don't mess with the guard geese though. | |

Notes: I visited Barcelona for the first time in the 70's, and I ate at Los Caracoles restaurant on Escudellers Street in the Gothic Quarter (Barri Gotic) near Placa Reial. Great food and still recommended today. |
