Switzerland certainly has its share of scenery, and perhaps the best way to see it while avoiding carsickness is the Little Red One, a train made for tourists and locals who want to get out into the coutryside.

What is it?

A series of trains made to view scenery and take you through scenic areas with panoramic open cars, gourmet restaurant cars, historic coaches, and featuring spiraling open descents into valleys.

Excursions

Besides just tooling around Switzerland's countryside, here are some of the packaged trips you can take on the Experience Railway:

  • Take to the baths! A ticket allows you to go from any station to Engadin Bad Scuol, take to the baths and return.
  • Tour the alps, even from Lugano or Tirano, Italy.
  • Train Trekking on a marked footpath
  • Skiing
  • Sledding
  • Scooter and Biking

Passes

The standard pass allows you three days of unlimited travel in a ten day period, with a 50% discount for the remaining days. You can add unlimited days to this pass through surcharges. The standard 2nd class pass costs 93.96 euros at the time of writing.
